The Weekend Guide: October 26th- October 29th

Looking for something to do this weekend? Whether you want something spooky or a fun night out, the Weekend Guide has you covered!

All Weekend: Visit Salem

Salem during Halloween is a trip everyone should make, but the drive there is the nightmare you want to avoid. Salem is an experience unlike any other—colonial-era cobblestone lanes where Nathaniel Hawthorne once strolled lead you to fine restaurants, a fabled waterfront and the exquisite Peabody Essex Museum, the art and cultural epicenter of the North Shore.

The trick (or treat) to get there is the Salem Ferry! Only a broom will get you there faster.  Carrying 149 passengers and cruising at up to 33 knots—the vessel Nathaniel Bowditch allows you to spend less time getting to Salem and more time exploring there.

Thursday: Harvard Art Museum

Join Harvard Art Museums for an evening of art, fun, food, and more! This event is free and open to everyone.

Gather with friends and mingle inside their Italian-inspired courtyard while taking in the smooth sounds from DJ C-Zone. Browse the museum shop and chat over a snack or drink for purchase from local vendors. And of course, wander the galleries to take in their world-class art collections—over 50 galleries to explore! Don’t forget to check out the current exhibitions.

After you’ve explored the galleries, circle back to see what’s happening in the courtyard.

Friday: Harvard Square's Illuminated Block Party

On Friday, October 27th the Harvard Square Business Association, in partnership with the City of Cambridge, welcomes you to an Illuminated Block Party from 7pm to 10pm.

From Mount Auburn to Brattle Street, JFK Street will be transformed into a pedestrian-friendly walkway where beer gardens, great food and live music welcome friends from near and far.

Saturday, October 28th: Mayhem and Madness Halloween Bash

The BostonYPA Mayhem and Madness Halloween Bash has sold out every single year since its inception, join us as we take over a new and bigger venue, for a spooktakular Halloween. Dance all night to the music of our favorite DJ Wali Shakir and enter to win our costume contest for a chance to win the $200 grand prize!

Sunday: Boynton Yards Fall Festival

Join Boynton Yards for a fall themed festival to celebrate all that is beautiful about this season! We'll have yard games, a costume contest, fall snacks, DJ Lady Ly, members of the Despelote dance team teaching us to Rueda and leading us through a timba line, face-painting with TaraFaeri, a spooky family-friendly movie, and of course, the football game on the big screen!

Have a Happy Halloween Everyone!
