Boston's Best Restaurant Meal Kits

Boston's Best Restaurant Meal Kits

Boston’s reopening plan has an updated gatherings order, which includes the “indefinite” postponement of Phase 3, Step 2. This is good for public health, but packs yet another punch to Boston restaurants that are already fighting for their lives.

Fortunately, Boston’s restaurateurs are creative and quick thinking - enter meal kits that put those subscription grocery boxes to shame. Recreate some of your favorite dishes at home, and take credit for all the work the chefs did when you pull it out of your oven. From Shakshuka and Pizza to Ramen and Tacos, we’ve rounded up the best meal kits that give you a home cooked meal you can savor, while helping to put a meal on the table of fellow Bostonians.

Seaport & Fort Point: Taco and Margarita Kits

The updated gatherings order may be effective Tuesday, August 11th, but we never miss a Taco Tuesday. Now it can be Lobster Taco Tuesday. Bartaco just brought back an old-school fan-favorite for this month’s #bartacosecret menu item – the Lobster Taco, available through Labor Day. However, this time around bartaco’s switching things up + teaching guests how to be a bartaco chef at home with their Lobster Taco Kit.  The lobster taco kit for 4 ($24) is available via takeout, curbside pickup + delivery at order.bartaco.com or the bartaco app. The delicate lobster meat is topped with warm browned lemon butter + served on top of a bed of nutty + sweet hominy, garnished with cilantro atop a taco for extra crunch.

For all guests who want to take their favorite restaurant food and drink home to enjoy, bartaco also offers margarita kits - there is a fresh squeezed version ($8) for you to add what you have at home, or a complete kit ($30) that contains libélula joven tequila + triple sec + agave syrup + lime juice. Bartaco also launched a to-go version of two fan-favorite cocktails, the Reviver – a refreshing mango flavored gin cocktail with fresh lime juice – and Smoke on the Water, which mixes the summer sweetness of watermelon, smoky mezcal, and cappelletti. Both cocktails are served for two at $18 and are available in an eco-friendly drink pouch at select locations.
