Member Spotlight: Lindsay Leisure
We recently welcomed Lindsay Leisure to our community. The job market can be challenging at times, and as AI and technologies change, the world of technologies change. One constant source of need has been Excel. Nearly every profession uses it in some way shape or form, and some people use it better than others. Lindsay can help you become a master of it!
Let’s Meet Lindsay!
Tell us more about your job or company - what led you to this focus? Is there a specific niche you focus on?
I’m the founder of Lessons with Lindsay, a one-on-one Excel coaching business tailored for professionals who want to work smarter and feel more confident with data. I spent nearly a decade working in business operations — first as an analyst, then as a manager — and Excel was always my most powerful (and underutilized) tool. I started helping colleagues and friends improve their Excel skills, and quickly realized there was a real need for customized, non-intimidating instruction. That’s what led me to launch my own business.
I work with a wide range of clients — from those opening Excel for the first time to senior executives refining advanced formulas. What sets me apart is that I tailor every lesson to how each client learns best, whether that’s visual walkthroughs, mirroring exercises, or hands-on practice. It’s technical coaching, with emotional intelligence at the core.
What would your clients or colleagues say about you?
Clients often tell me that I have a gift for making Excel approachable — and even fun. They appreciate how clearly I articulate complex concepts, and that I create a learning environment where no question feels too small or too obvious. I’ve worked hard to build a space where people feel comfortable asking what they really want to know, and where lessons are paced to their learning style. Whether someone is brand new to Excel or brushing up on advanced skills, I make sure they walk away feeling confident and capable.
Do you have a secret weapon? Special skill?
I help make complex concepts click by combining technical know-how with a feel for how each client learns best. It’s where business becomes more intuitive and brilliance feels within reach—measured by every “ah-ha” moment along the way.
What’s the best advice you’ve ever received? Or a mantra you live by?
“The meaning of life is to find your gift; the purpose of life is to give it away.” That line has stuck with me for years—it’s a reminder to lead with generosity, stay curious, and use my skills in service of others.
What advice would you give someone just starting in your industry?
Even in a tech-forward space like Excel coaching, success is people-driven. The most impactful and fulfilling work happens when you understand what each client values—not just in their projects, but in how they work and learn. The real magic is in seeing their vision, delivering on it, and then elevating it in ways they didn’t expect. That’s when coaching becomes transformational.
Who are your ideal clients? Where can they find you? (ie. Social, website, etc.)
My ideal clients are business professionals ready to sharpen their Excel skills—whether they’re leveling up, switching roles, or chasing new goals. Many are in career transitions or growth phases and want a supportive coach who understands how they learn best. Some book regularly, others pop in when a project calls for it. No pressure, no long-term commitment—just tailored, on-demand support.

In the BostonYPA Community
What are three things you like to do in your free time?
In my free time, I’m usually at a Pilates class, walking along the Charles, or catching up with friends over a great meal. I strive for balance—movement, connection, and a little indulgence.
When/how did you become involved with BostonYPA? How has this affiliation helped your career?
I actually just joined after discovering BostonYPA through Eventbrite—but from day one, they’ve been incredibly responsive, supportive, and eager to help promote and connect local professionals. It already feels like a community that genuinely wants its members to thrive, and I’m excited to be part of it as I continue to grow my business in Boston.
What do you enjoy most about being a member? For those young professionals looking to possibly join, why should they?
I love the combination of professional support and genuine community. The networking opportunities are thoughtfully curated, and the resources offered to members make it easy to feel supported—whether you’re growing a business or growing in your career. BostonYPA is more than just a network—it’s a launchpad. If you’re looking to connect with driven, like-minded professionals and access tools to take your next step, it’s absolutely worth joining.
What would you like BYPA professionals to know about you/your business? Any news/announcements/events/milestones coming up that you’d like to promote?
