Did you grow up in Boston? If not, what led you here?

Originally from Westfield, MA graduated from Suffolk in 2015 and have been living in Boston ever since.

Tell us more about your job or company - what led you to this focus?

I joined MBA Mortgage in 2019 and since have become a Sr. Loan Officer.  MBA Mortgage has been Veteran owned and operated mortgage brokerage since 2005. We are best known for providing personalized and professional support throughout the mortgage loan process. 

What would your clients or colleagues say about you?

When asked they replied with “Shawn is always supportive, sharing knowledge, encouraging, and willing to talk with other Loan Officers through issues. He is truly a team player and a strong leader.

What’s the mantra you live by?

“Always put the customer first” and “You can help make the dream of homeownership a reality for many people.” Are both simple reminders for me to strive for exceptional service. It’s important to keep in mind the end goal is to help the client find the right mortgage product that meets their needs so being attentive to their individual circumstances and goals. 

What advice would you give someone just starting in your industry? 

Ask questions, listen, watch the leaders around you. Stay focused and ALWAYS keep your word. 

What is the biggest lesson you've learned so far in your career?

The importance of staying organized and on top of details. The loan process can be complex with many moving parts, so it’s crucial to keep track of deadlines. Overall, being organized and detailed-oriented is essential for success as a mortgage loan officer. 

Who are your ideal clients?  Where can they find you? 

My ideal client is a first-time homebuyer, because I truly enjoy assisting people through new home buying processes.
